Positioning for Future Success UPDATE: DQ Ent. has been listed as a Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific (2007). DQ Entertainment (DQE), the Hyderabad, India-based company that currently stands as the most relevant and certainly most ambitious of go-to animation companies when it comes to outsourcing, has done nothing but raise its stock--both literally and figuratively--as the company closed out the 2007-year. Providing support for television Animation Outsourcing, visual effects services and video gaming, DQ Thermistor Entertainment has some three thousand employees worldwide. And looking at their expectations for the 2008-year, the entertainment group plans to expand its facilities and benefit from the international market like never before. To assert that DQE is in an expansion mode is a vast understatement. Right in the middle of their hard work on co-productions with east-west heavy hitters such as Nickelodeon, Sony and Disney as well as others--[related A.I. news: "DQ Ent.: Quality Animation from India"]--the company has taken on the interest of building additional facilities to help increase their workflow. At present, they have production facilities in Hyderabad (India) and Manila (Philippines), and sales offices in Paris (France), Los Angeles (U.S.) and Tokyo (Japan). However, already operational as of this past December 2007 saw the launch of the DQE's third tech center, which houses somewhere around one thousand employees Wholesale home appliance that are trained and skilled to handle: 3D animation, production and co-production for feature filmmaking, direct-to-video production, TV animation and gaming effects. Although the company remains vigilant that the time for original intellectual properties is coming in the near future, this new extension, at present, is a base for animation outsourcing work. The current emphasis on this new site, however multi-faceted its staff may be, is videogame animation Wholesale Jewelry content development (for all major gaming consoles and mobile platforms). Of all of DQ Entertainment's current projects, approximately 40% is outsourcing work, with the remaining related to co-production endeavors that involve partners such as Marvel Comics (Iron Man) and American Greetings (Maryoku Yummy). from Tutenstein The outsourcing group's expansion plans haven't rested with the mere addition of another building to their main offices though; according to government reports, DQ Entertainment is also seeking to acquire space some 735 miles northeast of its Hyderabad-base, in Kolkata. The West Bengal region of India is home to a sizeable number of trained animators and animation academic institutions, such as The Webel Animation Academy; and as a result, DQE isn't waiting any longer to reap the benefits from the ambitious youth that grow from those fields. The company intends to bring on board as many as Wholesale housewares 800 new animators in the forthcoming year. The prospective Kolkata site reportedly requires some 10 acres of land on which DQE would build a massive workspace of 1 million sq. ft. Things are in the development stages though, on this expansion project: "We have expressed our desire to set up a studio in the city. We are discussing it with the state government. I can't say anything beyond this," Sumedha Sarogi, the vice-president of DQ Entertainment, commented. Recently recognized in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific, a regional company ranking based on steady growth rate, skilled manpower and expansion initiatives, DQ Entertainment is well equipped for the forthcoming year. DQE in particular, was also ranked last year among the top 50 Technology Wholesale Gifts fast companies in the Indian sector of the Deloitte rankings. Providing the Asian creative sector with superior technological and innovation skills, DQ Entertainment is humbled by the recognition (their second in two years) but remains confident that the future nevertheless still holes much to be accomplished. Although all of the before mentioned news of expansion has come in the closing weeks of 2007 for DQ Entertainment, Ltd.; none of it compares to what the company was able to accomplish in the final week. The animation company recently gained the privilege of being listed on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market. Raising money from their Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the past few weeks have offered DQE the opportunity to do more than speculate on their physical expansion. The company intends to work towards encompassing a greater Indian audience through both acquired and original programming Wholesale bags. Fiscal Prowess The financial market's expectations of DQ Entertainment, Ltd. are high, and rightfully so. With such a massive workforce and an increasingly lucrative production pipeline, the money currently raised through their IPO will position DQE immensely comfortable for the 2008-year. According to reports, an amount to the of $56 million has been raised through the IPO. And so, with the money and the Wholesale shoes and the personnel, what's DQ Entertainment going to do now? Tapaas Chakravarti, the Chairman and CEO of DQ Entertainment, has made it crystal clear what he intends to do with his resources: further finance current outsourcing projects, secure additional intellectual property rights, work toward European acquisitions, expand production facilities in India, explore the option of opening up a Film School, establish global sales & distribution networks and buy out some existing investors. The most promising of Chakravarti's ideas though, are his plans to develop and produce original intellectual property for Indian audiences that are distributed by Indian partnerships. Said plans will primarily include animated feature films, perhaps superhero-based, for Bollywood audiences, which can be rolled out by the 2009-year. The company will also angle into the spheres of publishing comics and merchandising for their original IPs. "DQE's comprehensive international presence and partnership will have sizeable boost to its international profile with listing at Wholesale sporting goods, LSE," Chakravarti, commented. "The global animation and gaming industry combined together is growing over 10% CAGR while it is witnessing a paradigm shift in use of next-gen technologies to fulfill ever-increasing creative needs, manage the cost increase well and deliver across all platforms of distribution including digital platforms." (Adding more percentages into the mix, one source reports that DQE has been growing at a CAGR of 47-50%; with the company's co-production and service order book closely estimated at an astounding $94.6 million.) He continued: "We are ideally placed to exploit immense national and international market opportunities with our proven track record of highest quality, tremendous pool of creative talents, and comprehensive international partnership for iconic branded IP co-productions. This listing will assist DQE to keep up with the growth challenges Wholesale dollar items and manage it well." Diverting a cool 18% of the newly raised funds towards acquiring those intellectual property rights of characters, DQ Entertainment is rising, and fast. The company's current plans for 2008 expansion, in India, are inclusive of opening up animation units in Navi Mumbai and Chennai; this in addition to Hyderabad and Kolkata, both as previously stated. "Around $8-9 million would be used for the expansion," the ambitious CEO stated. Chakravarti expects a turnover of $25 million by March 31st, 2008, according to sources.
